What the experts say

The Late Professor Richard Holmes

"I am very interested indeed in the work that has been carried out on the possible site of the battle of Fulford: I must  say that I find the arguments in its favour very persuasive. I applaud the excellent work done by the Battlefields Trust, but we in Britain are still not as good as we ought to be at preserving historic battlefields, and I really do hope that this potentially important site will not be lost for ever."

In March 2003 For the planning inquiry it was possible to get letters of support from all the leading battlefield archaeologists and media historians.
